Landlords and Tenants

UK Mediation regularly works with housing associations across the UK, and resolving disputes between tentants and landlords, as well as neighbours, continues to be the perfect example of where mediation can really work.

In the Evening Standard Homes and Property Section, mediation was recently praised as "not only benefiting the parties involved, but also helps the overworked courts."

LEASE Advice, a government funded body which provides free advice to leaseholders, has been offering a mediation service for the past 18 months. The organisation has 12 legally qualified advisers who are all trained in mediation skills by UK Mediation.

Mike Talbot of UK Mediation commented, "You're looking for a forwards solution, not who's been to blame in the past. It's about understanding people's frustrations. Mediation is used particularly when you do need an ongoing relationship, as with a block of flats".
