Free Introductory Events

UK Mediation offers a series of free seminars which you are welcome to attend. These take place at our regional offices throughout the year, and give you the opportunity to find out more about the increasing use of mediation in the UK.

We tailor two different events depending upon your needs:
Becoming a Mediator: for those that want to train as a mediator
Mediation in Your Workplace: for those looking to bring mediation into an organisation

The seminars will last approximately one and a half hours and include a light buffet. They will begin with a presentation from a practising mediator with time at the end for questions.

Consultation Days & Awareness Seminars

If you or your organisation have six or more individuals who would like to know more about mediation, then we will visit you for either a full or half day, at a venue of your choice.  Consultation days are provided on an 'expenses only' basis, so your time with a practising mediator is completely free of charge.

Consultation days are specifically designed for groups of individuals wishing to gain some awareness of mediation issues, or organisations considering training employees as mediators, or setting up in-house services.  The tutor-mediator assigned to your organisation will tailor the session to your particular needs, and will advise you on any aspect of mediation, training, or service set-up that you require.

Your time will be a combination of presentation, Question & Answer sessions, and joint-consultation with specific reference to the needs of you, and your organisation.  Please contact us for an informal chat, or for more details.

Will Mediation work for you?

DVD-based resources on mediation

We have a produced a DVD-based training package called "Train to Mediate"TM, based around a typical workplace 'personality clash', showing how a manager would use mediation skills to respond to the situation, and how trained mediators would work with a this type of dispute.

This is for trainers, HR professionals and others who want to run their own training courses in-house for staff and managers.
