Conforming to new legislation

Learn how to resolve interpersonal disputes without having to resort to formal measures: resolve conflicts in the spirit of the new ACAS Code. The 2009 ACAS Code of Practice for Disciplinary & Grievance Procedures actively encourages the use of mediation, stating that “It may be helpful to consider mediation at any stage.” From a managerial perspective, the Code exists to ensure that individuals encountering conflict are given the chance to resolve their dipute quickly and effectively.

In direct response to the ACAS Code of Practice, customer feedback and the vast research that we have undertaken, we have devised some new courses that will provide you with the essential skills required in order to respond efficiently and effectively to workplace disputes. The Conflict Resolution Skills and Mediation Skills courses are highly participative, and use example scenarios of real disputes and conflict simulations, to outline how to resolve conflict. Our interactive training DVD is used to illustrate key points, and as always these courses are led by a practising mediator.

These courses aim to develop learners' skills and understanding in early, informal, and constructive responses to interpersonal conflict. All staff with management responsibilities including; HR practitioners, Trades Union members and occupational health and welfare personnel, typically attend these courses.
