How we got here

UK Mediation was founded in 1999 by our principal, Mike Talbot. Mike is a UKCP-registered psychotherapist, who became interested in mediation and conflict resolution through his work with stress, trauma, and mental health in the workplace. Prior to starting UK Mediation, Mike worked with the NHS, British Telecom, GEC Plessey, and for twelve years in private practice as a psychotherapist, clinical supervisor, and trauma de-briefer.

Mike and his team have developed the company to become the UK’s mediation specialists. Learning many lessons along the way, the company now occupies the unique position of being able to offer training and mediation services in every type of mediation: from workplaces, neighbourhoods and families, through complaints handling and civil & commercial cases, to employment claims and even the most entrenched business disputes.
